Twitter: A status indicator placed in tweets is under development

The last few days have been a harbinger of great news for Twitter, with the well-known social network of the blue canary which, although brought up in the stock market prices by the interest of Elon Musk, will still have to make a lot of efforts to reach the goal of 315 million. monetizable daily users (mDAU) promised to investors in February, given that 100 million users are missing from the finish line and that in 2021 only 18 have been added.

To achieve this, which would translate into an increase in revenue from $ 5 billion to $ 7.5 billion, Twitter is trying different ways. Recently, the announcement of new ad formats in testing started, with some rumors that spoke of the possibility of selecting the text, spotted by the leaker Jane Manchun Wong in a version of Twitter for Android. To these innovations another one could soon be added, according to another analyst of the application code, the Italian Alessandro Paluzzi who, specifically, discovered the first traces of a function already in vogue on platforms such as Messenger and, recently , Instagram.

In 2018, Twitter announced that it was testing several features, some of which were previewed at a New York event by Fast Company: one of the many involved a status indicator, which the team of then CEO Jack Dorsey had identified the need at the companies. users, since many used to temporarily change their nickname to indicate that they were online, available to start a discussion. The hope of that test was, according to the platform, that people who were online at the same time would start more discussions.

Well, Twitter would be dedicating himself to something like this again, through a function known today as “Vibes” (vibrations) which, according to the activation that Paluzzi managed to operate, would allow to place an indicator in every tweet, to let people know , when you filled it in, where you were, how you felt, what you were doing, what music you were listening to, perhaps to provide something useful in the context of the twitter itself.

At the moment, however, in the absence of official confirmations, it is difficult to concretely hypothesize the appearance and final functioning of this function dedicated to status updates on Twitter, given that it is not even sure that the function will debut or that, if so , can then be affirmed (Fleets docent).
