In 2018, Twitter announced that it was testing several features, some of which were previewed at a New York event by Fast Company: one of the many involved a status indicator, which the team of then CEO Jack Dorsey had identified the need at the companies. users, since many used to temporarily change their nickname to indicate that they were online, available to start a discussion.
