Very often, the news relating to large software and social platforms are brought into the open by the leakers. This has not been the case in the past few hours for Twitter which, on the other hand, has personally communicated the arrival of a new function, albeit in testing, and the deduction of something that, instead, was there and that is destined to disappear.

In the first case, Twitter took advantage of its official Twitter Communities account to chirp the implementation of a test, which involves iOS, Android and the web iteration of the social network, thanks to which it aims to improve the user experience inside of these aggregates: specifically, the object of the experimentation concerns the possibility of rearranging the chronology of what has been published in the Communities by intervening on an icon in the shape of two opposing selectors which, when touched, reveals two options.

With “For You” (for you) the contents will be reorganized according to an algorithm that will first show the posts deemed most important for that given user, based on an algorithm that learns their tastes and interests: by opting for the “Latest “(The last ones), will instead be placed higher up, to the attention of the user, the last shared posts, the most recent or” fresh “ones, according to what is the famous and much requested” chronological “ordering.

The Twitter Communities account concluded the announcement with an invitation to share what you think of the news, in order to collect feedback, and understand whether or not the improvement is appreciated, but also to draw any ideas for improvement. Through another official account, TweetDeck, the communication arrives (also via banner at the top of the relative application) that, from 1 July, the TweetDeck management client app for Mac will no longer be available, with orphaned users of the same. who will be able to access this platform (bought by Twitter in 2011 for 40 million dollars) via the web (tweetdeck.twitter.com/) and who, in the coming months, will receive other invitations to try out the new web experience in preparation.

Previously, the blue canary had withdrawn the TweetDeck client for mobile devices in 2013, and in 2016 stopped support for Windows. In 2018 the native app for Mac was withdrawn, with the one now available which, in reality, was a fork of the iPad version, adapted thanks to the “Mac Catalyst“ project.
