Always at the center of rumors, the famous social Twitter, at a crucial point in the negotiation to be acquired by Elon Musk, announced, after months of testing, the launch of an expected novelty to make its platform more secure.

The first news related to Twitter in this short recap concerns an improvement officially announced by the platform. Last December, the blue canary tested, limited to the USA, the renewal of the “Report Tweet” function “which provided excellent feedback since, having improved the number of usable reports sent by 50%, the microblog was able to effectively remove more harmful and / or dangerous content.

Ipso facto, in the past few hours, the global roll-out of this function has started, which should be completed in the coming weeks. Once implemented, the current reporting system, which requires the user to understand which rule has been violated when making a choice from a series of limited categories to choose from, will give way to a new reporting system, which will allow provide more contextual information “on how a tweet might affect someone”, while also choosing multiple options together.

In particular, the reporting flow of tweets being implemented is divided into various windows, starting with the one that asks who a given tweet could impact (myself, everyone on Twitter, a specific group of people, someone else).

Then, the nature of the impact (harassed or intimidated with violence, attacked with hatred, spammed, exposed to contents to induce him to use violence, exposed to sensitive or offensive contents), the way in which the impact is carried out (insults, denying events such as the Holocaust, hoping for harm or spreading fear about someone because of their identity, encouraging harassment because of their identity, sharing images aimed at spreading hatred, etc). The last step proposes a summary that highlights for which rule a violation is being reported. plus the ability to add further context by including other tweets or by filling out a specific text form.

On the subject of unofficial news, as it is still in development, from the studies of the leaker Alessandro Paluzzi it emerges that Twitter would be working to bring the bookmark option also in the function (only for Blue subscribers) reader mode (display of a tweet thread without distracting elements) on Android.
