An event, surprisingly when a calendar, but not according to the rumors, made it possible to appreciate two new Xiaomi products, including the Civi 1S smartphone with overclocked processor and the Xiaomi Smart Display 10 intelligent monitor for home automation and entertainment.
During an event dedicated to the press, Xiaomi presented the awaited Xiaomi Civi 1S smartphone, heir to last year’s model, together with a product that expands its portfolio of smart devices, represented by the Xiaomi Smart Display 10.
Xiaomi Civi 1S has a thin and light metal chassis (158.34 x 71.5 x 6.98 mm, for 166 grams) with an opaque satin glass back declined according to 4 gradient colors (Miracle Sunshine, Shiny Black, Light Blue , Pounding Powder), with diamond texture. The front, behind a 2.5D glass slightly curved at the edges, with Gorilla Glass 5 protection, is an AMOLED with underlying scanner, 6.55 inches, resolved in FullHD +, with 120 Hz refresh rate, 240 Hz touch sampling, 950 nits of brightness, support for Dolby Vision and HDR10 +.
The self-camera (Sony IMX616) in the top center hole is 32 megapixel (with autofocus, Cyberfocus for eye tracking, with Native Beauty Portrait and Natural Beauty for Boys beautification features, and an advanced Portrait 2.0 mode. The rear features a triple camera in a triangle, from 64 (main, f / 1.79), 8 (ultra-wide angle from 120 °, f / 2.2), 2 (macro, f / 24). The audio relies on two stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, but does without the 3.5 mm jack.
At the processing level, for the processor we opted for the overclocked (2.5 GHz) Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G + 5G combined with the Adreno 642L graphics card, in the configurations of RAM (LPDDR4X) and storage (UFS 2.2, not expandable) from 8 + 128 GB (2,299 yuan, 327 euros), 8 + 256 GB (2,599 yuan, 369 euros), 12 + 256 GB (2,899 yuan, 412 euros). Present a 4,500 mAh battery quickly charged to 55W via Type-C 2.0, the rest of the hardware card of the Xiaomi Civi 1S provides 4G VoLTE, Dual SIM, 5G standalone and not, Bluetooth 5.2 LE, Wi-Fi 6 , GPS, infrared, and NFC. Under the MIUI 13 interface, the operating system is Android 12.
As is known, Xiaomi has a wide range of devices for home automation, including washing machines, vacuum cleaners and smart bulbs usually also manageable via the Xiaomi Home smartphone app. In order to manage all this (and much more) through an ad hoc hub, the Chinese manufacturer presented the Xiaomi Smart Display 10. The latter has an all-metal structure, except for the fabric grille that hides the stereo speakers: the rear offers a stand that allows inclinations from 90 and 120 ° while, in front, in addition to the 10.1-inch HD display, there is a 5 megapixel webcam, with 11 ° ultra-wide angle to video call more people, with the safety taken care of by means of a special chip and a physical slider.
Compatible with the XiaoAi voice assistant, the Xiaomi Smart Display 10, thanks to face recognition, can load a special mode for children, complete with educational applications: after the pre-orders just started, at a price of 949 yuan (169 euro), the device will actually be available for sale from next April 29th.
