Today’s long-awaited event, dedicated to the presentation of the new Honor 70 series of smartphones has just taken place, with the brand that, during a streaming event that has concerned the Chinese market for now, has unveiled the new Honor 70 Series, in version standard, Pro, and Pro Plus, ready to be purchased in China.
The Honor 70 (161.4 x 73.3 x 7.91 mm for 178 grams in the colors Bright Black, Iceland Fantasy, Streamer Crystal, Mo Yuqing) has practically absent bezels on the front, thanks also to the curved design of the display, a 6.67-inch OLED panel provided by BOE with FullHD + resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, 10-bit color depth, predisposition to support video playback in vivid HDR, PWM attenuation at 1,920 Hz, biometric scanner underneath, and hole in top center, for the 32 megapixel self-camera (OmniVision OV32C, f / 2.4).
Behind, a two-ring system of equal size hides three sensors and an LED flash, with the triple camera offering a 54 Sony IMX800 main sensor (1 / 1.49 “, f / 1.9, pixel binning per pixel brought to 1 at 2 micrometers), an ultra wide-angle 50 (f / 2.2) with macro functions (for 2.5 cm / 1 ″ focus), and a 2 megapixel depth sensor (f / 2.4). The camera app offers, even in the basic model, the Vlog mode which, shooting front and back, puts the author of the shots and his subjects at the center of the scene, stabilized and embellished via AI.
In the Honor 70, the octacore processor (2.4 GHz) Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G + (with Adreno 642L GPU) operates which, borrowed from the Honor 60 Pro, is here supported by a RAM equal to 8 or 12 GB and by one storage in three options, from 128/256/512 GB: the mnemonic combinations are three, from 8 + 128 GB (2,699 yuan. 376 euro), 12 + 256 GB (2,999 yuan, 418 euro), 12 + 512 GB (3,399 yuan, 474 euros). On the energy side, in this case a 4,800 mAh battery is adopted, which can be quickly charged to 66W.
Honor 70 Pro (163.9 x 74.6 x 8.18 mm for 192 grams) and Honor 70 Pro + (same size) have many elements in common. On the display side, again with the BOE logo and with integrated biometric scanner, there is a 6.78-inch OLED panel, FullHD +, quad curved: the hole in the top center houses a 50 megapixel self-camera (with 100 ° as field of view, f / 2.4) . Behind, always the same double ring pattern, but with a metal strip joining the two portholes. proposes once again a triple camera, on the Honor 70 Pro and Pro Plus, but different from the standard model since, if the main sensor (Sony IMX800) from 54 megapixels and the ultra wide angle from 50 megapixel with macro are borrowed , the third is an 8 megapixel (f / 2.4) telescopic sensor, with OIS optical stabilization and 3x optical / 30x digital zoom.
In the Honor 70 Pro and 70 Pro + the processors change, here Mediatek, respectively as Dimensity 8000 (2.75 GHz, Mali-G610 GPU) and Dimensity 9000 (3.05 GHz, Mali-G710 GPU): the mnemonic combinations in the Honor 70 Pros are 8 + 12 GB RAM (3,699 yuan, 515 euros), 12 + 256 GB (4,299 yuan, 557 euros), and 12 + 512 GB (4,399 yuan, 613 euros). The Honor 70 Pro + version, on the other hand, contemplates the 8 + 256 GB (4,299 yuan, 599 euro) and 12 + 256 GB (4,599 yuan, 641 euro) combinations. Curiously, in the two Honor 70 Pro and 70 Pro + the battery drops in size, to 4,500 mAh but, again via Type-C, it grows in fast charging speed, here from 100W (from 0 to 100% in half an hour, from 0 to 60 % in 15 minutes).
To unify the trio of the Honor 70 Series, connectivity, including NFC for payments, GPS (Glonass / Beidou / A-GPS, also QZSS and Galileo in the Pro), 5G, Dual SIM, Bluetooth 5.2 and the dual band Wi-Fi 6, and the choice of software, with Android 12 which, covered by the Magic UI 6.1 interface, is thus enriched with “Turbo” features (Link Turbo X, GPU Turbo X, and OS Turbo X ).
