A few weeks after the launch of the S15e model, the Vivo brand has announced two other mid-range smartphones, very performing and with a refined look, in the same series which, represented by the Vivo S15 and S15 Pro, have many other things in common, in addition to the Android 12 operating system under the Origin OS Ocean interface. On the sidelines of the presentation event, the one more thing took place in the form of the new Vivo TWS Air earphones.

Starting from the base model, the Vivo S15 (161.09 x 74.31 x 7.99 mm for 197 grams, in black, orange and blue) has a frame with iPhoniana-inspired flat side frames already seen on the S12 models / V23: The display is a 6.62-inch AMOLED E4 resolved in FullHD +, with 120 Hz refresh rate, 300 Hz touch sampling, 1,300 nits peak brightness, HDR10 support, 20: 9 aspect ratio, and scanner integrated impression.

In the top hole in the center there is a 32 megapixel (f / 2.0) self-camera while, on the back, it has a two-tone squared bumper: the largest section houses the optically stabilized 64 megapixel main sensor (f / 1.89) with portholes of the same size. and the ultra-wide-angle 8 megapixel (f / 2.2), while the smaller section below houses the 2 megapixel macro sensor (f / 2.4). The audio relies on two Hi-RES stereo speakers and on the audio implementation of the microUSB Type-C.

Qualcomm was chosen for the chipmaker of the Vivo S15, with the octacore Snapdragon 870 (coupled to the Adreno 650 GPU) capable of supporting LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage: specifically, the respective amounts allow combinations of 8 + 128 GB (2,699 yuan, more or less 379 euros), 8 + 256 GB (2,999 yuan, roughly 421 euros at the exchange rate) and 12 + 256 GB (3,299 yuan, about 464 euros). The 4,500 mAh battery charges quickly at 66W, while Dual SIM connectivity with standalone and non-standalone 5G and 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi ax / 6 dual band, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, dual frequency GPS (L1 and L5).

In the Vivo S15 Pro (58.9 × 73.52 × 8.55 mm for 188 grams, same colors as the base model minus orange) there is a 6.56-inch AMOLED E5 display resolved in FullHD + according to an aspect ratio of 18, 9: 9, with 120 Hz refresh rate, 300 Hz touch sampling, 1,500 nits peak, biometric scanner underneath, and dedicated screen chip. In the hole made in the front of the screen, there is the same selfiecamera of the basic model (from which the vibrational motor along the X axis is also borrowed).

Behind, the same design scheme of the “smooth” model offers a different triple camera, with an optically stabilized 50 megapixel Sony IMX766V main sensor (f / 1.88), an ultra-wide angle (120 °) 12 megapixel (f / 2.2) sensor with macro functions at .5 cm, and a 2 megapixel (f / 2.4) monochrome sensor. The audio here also provides two stereo speakers with Hi-RES but no jackino.

The battery is less capacious, from 4,500 mAh, but charges faster, at 80W: for the processor, Mediatek is on the scene, with its 5 nanometer Dimensity 8100 paired with a Mali-G610 hexacore GPU: the RAM, of type LPDDR5X, and the storage, again UFS 3.1, here provide only two combinations, from 8 + 256 GB (3,399 yuan, about 480 euros) and 12 + 256 GB (3,699 yuan, around 522 euros). In this model, the manufacturer has provided 44,389 mm2 as an extension of the coverage area used for heat dissipation.

For connectivity, the Vivo S15 Pro deploys Dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, 5G standalone and not, Wi-Fi ax / 6 dual band, Bluetooth 5.3, microUSB Type-C, dual-frequency GPS, NFC.

Similar to the TWS Neo and therefore with stem, the semi in-ear earphones (199 yuan, about 28 euros) Vivo TWS Air have a light chassis (3.5 grams) in Rough Blue and Vitality White waterproof IP54, containing 27 mAh microbatteries accredited by 4.5 hours of operation, and 14.2 mm drivers, calibrated by the internal Golden Ears division and optimized with Deep X 2.0 filters. On the phone side there is the AI noise reduction: connected to two devices simultaneously, these earphones make use of Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity equipped with a low latency mode (117 ms). Thanks to the oval case with Type-C charge for its 420 mAh battery, they benefit from another 25 hours of battery life.
