WEMAX brings the new WEMAX Go and Go Pro smart projectors to market

WEMAX, a brand also known for having collaborated with Xiaomi in the past, announced, as a result of a happy crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo, the arrival on the market, in promo launch, of a new product for home cinema, represented by the very compact WEMAX Go projector (on Aliexpress at 373.60 euros), also in the Pro version.

WEMAX Go measures 150 x 83 x 25 mm for 299 grams, more or less like an iPhone 13 Pro Max and, as a result, it can easily be carried even in your pocket, perhaps when you travel frequently from one meeting room to another. to illustrate your projects: in the Pro model, the 3,485 mAh battery ensures greater versatility while, in the standard Go that does not have it, via USB Type-C, you can get something like 4 hours of autonomy by connecting a 12,000 mAh powerbank .

In any case, the power consumption is really low (30 W). The technology adopted is that of the Advanced Laser Phosphor Display, ALPD, which ensures a brightness of 2/3 times better than the LED models of similar dimensions, from 300 in the standard Go and from 600 ANSI Lumen in the Go Pro, with a contrast (full off-full on) of 500: 1.

The shooting ratio is always 1.2: 1, but in the standard WEMAX GO it allows projections from 15 to 100 inches, with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels while, in the Go Pro, it goes from 40 to 120 inches, resolved at 1920 x 1080 pixels: the correction of keystone distortion is automatic and manual, vertically, in the basic model, which does not support lateral projection, but only automatic and 4-point in the Go Pro, which instead allows lateral projection. Furthermore, in the basic model, the focus is manual, while it is automatic in the Go Pro.

The presence of the Smart OS operating system allows the Pro model, equipped with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage, to have benefits such as smart avoidance of obstacles and intelligent alignment of the screen, absent in the basic model, which – without OS – it has 8 MB of RAM and 128 MB of storage: on the other hand, in the basic model, if you want an OS, you can always use an HDMI dongle, like the Amazon Fire Stick or the Chromecast now with Google TV. The audio, in the WEMAX Go Pro, also equipped with a remote control, is entrusted to two 2W speakers, while in the basic model with two 0.8W speakers.

It should be noted that in the WEMAX Go Pro the connection to the source can take place not only with Wi-Fi (here dual band), but also with Bluetooth 5.0, absent from the Go base, equipped with 2.4 GHz monoband Wi-Fi. Other sources of content can, in both models, derive from the use of a USB Type-A, in an array of ports that also includes a 3.5 mm jack for headphones.
