WhatsApp: a new version of the Reactions has been spotted

For some time now, one of the main guidelines of commitment of the WhatsApp engineers has been the one that leads straight to the implementation of the Reactions, already present in other instant messaging apps, including the rival Telegram.

Recently, WhatsApp released the Reactions in a beta for Android, the 2.22.8.3 release, withdrawing them shortly afterwards: later another beta arrived, always destined for the green robot, which restored them, again for some testers who , as a result, they can now reply to messages through a basket of 6 emojis, consisting of smiley, surprised, crying smileys, thanksgiving, thumbs up and like hearts.

Apparently, many users expected, which they then began to ask for, a greater assortment of emojis to use as Reactions: Menlo Park, according to WABetaInfo leakers, did not let themselves be begged and, perfectly tuned to the wishes of its users. , has started working on a new version of the Reactons via emoji, as discovered by analyzing the application code of a recent beta release for Android.

Specifically, from the images extracted from the back-end of the app, and published as screenshots by the leakers on their website, it can be seen how the Reactions bar containing the emojis that can be used to respond present, after the last emoticon, that of the hands arrived as a sign of thanks (in the manner of the Indians), a “plus” sign that suggests the possibility that the user can use other emojis as Reactions.

At the moment, it has not been possible to go further, discovering what other sets of emojis could be used by the user: the experts, however, have hypothesized that, if everything were to work as on Messenger and Instagram, whose operating routines are destined to conform more and more by choice of Mark Zuckerberg, it is likely that users, by acting on the add button, could use any emoji they want.

To date, as always happens in the case of features discovered through reverse engineering and not officially confirmed by Menlo Park, it is difficult to hypothesize when this novelty will make its debut in a clear way, freeing itself from the current state of hidden development.
