WhatsApp: design change to improve interactions with stories?

WhatsApp it has been evolving rapidly in recent months, becoming much more than a classic messaging app.

In this sense, the latest intervention by the developers seems to have affected the design and the layout of the application, with some changes to facilitate the visibility of updates from friends and family.

The site reported this change WABetaInfowhich analyzed the beta version of WhatsApp 2.24.4.19 per Android. In the same, experts examined the design of the card Updates.

The new design of the WhatsApp Updates tab should improve user experience

The restyling in question would change the way in which the app displays data stories to users. The Meta developers therefore focused on emphasizing the status updatesproposing more visible thumbnails to the detriment of the underlying names.

This should encourage interactions between friends, browsing through the stories of their acquaintances without necessarily having to open them. Overall, WABetaInfo defines how this change can be considered a real leap in quality regarding theuser experience. Before we can actually evaluate its impact, however, it will be necessary to wait for a possible large-scale implementation.

Just as happens with any update that appears in a beta version of WhatsApp, it is not certain that the new design will actually be integrated and, even if this is the case, it is not known whether the novelty will affect only Android or also the version iOS of the app. Likewise, it is not yet clear if and how these changes will be implemented and whether these will be optional or imposed on users without choice.

This innovation is not the only significant introduction that affects WhatsApp in this period. Just a few days ago, in fact, we talked about the implementation of the mode Chat Lock shared on the different platforms used for the same account.
