While the extension of a useful function for the safety of users proceeds, WhatsApp has taken the opportunity to formalize the release of a function that will allow everyone a richer expression of their thoughts.

The first news related to WhatsApp, in this week’s start, concerns a function requested by users and now, as communicated by the WhatsApp Twitter account, and via post on the personal profile by the CEO of Meta Platforms, Mark Zuckerberg, in the process of release for all on android and ios versions of the chat app in see. Specifically, it is the possibility, discovered by the leakers already in June (in the beta 2.22.15.6 for Android and 22.14.0.71 for iOS), of being able to use all the emojis to react to messages.

According to what is explained, through a sort of emoji keyboard, the user can use all the emojis he has available (and no longer just the previous 6), even being able to set the color of the skin (e.g. for faces, hands , etc): at the moment, as mentioned, there is no mention of an implementation also for the web based and Desktop version of WA, which could also arrive (or not) in a future update. Furthermore, the implementation on the mobile side, although started, is still in progress, although it is likely that it will be completed in time for next July 17, when the anniversary of the Emoji Day falls.

Obviously, it is not that WhatsApp has put aside the development of other highly anticipated or useful news, on the contrary. In this regard, the feature trackers of WABetaInfo have also discovered the development for the Desktop version, which at least in this will not be neglected, of a function already released on the mobile side last year, first in the beta 2.21.20.1 of WhatsApp for Android and then in the beta 2.21.190.12 of WhatsApp for the iOS counterpart.

This is, drum roll, the feature to report a single message to the platform moderation team, in a conversation or group chat, as it is deemed offensive, hateful, or in violation of community rules. To do this, simply select the message and, from the drop-down menu next to it, choose the item “Report”.
