In the past few hours, the feature trackers of the WABetaInfo group have had the opportunity to put their hands on a beta release of WhatsApp Desktop which, in the face of the apparent calm on the surface, kept a few lines of code relating to an innovation inherent to the groups, as known brought some day ago to a maximum of 512 members.
WhatsApp, evidently, seems to be aware that this enlargement could entail contraindications: in particular, in the case of groups with very talkative users, one could be induced to pack their bags even if, as the groups work today, this is “ethically” difficult. . Often, in fact, people are added to groups by acquaintances, friends, family and colleagues, and it is difficult to leave these digital aggregations without giving a displeasure to their members, especially since, to date, when a group is abandoned, a warning system appears in chat to notify their “escape” to those who remained.
According to what the experts have been able to deduce, regarding a novelty that, however, is given as certainly coming also for iOS and Android, things could change in this area in the future, in order to protect those who go away, but also those who stay. This, in particular, would happen thanks to the fact that, leaving a group chat, this would happen silently, without the thing being notified to the others, with only the group administrators who, for their functions, could see who leaves the chat of group (ipso facto not burdened with notices to any member who should leave it).
At the moment, no indicators have emerged that suggest when this improvement relating to the functioning of the groups will be introduced, although it is clear that it will debut first in the beta channel of WhatsApp and only secondarily, once sufficient and positive feedback has been collected, in the stable one. .
