WhatsApp, the multi-device mode also arrives for iOS

There are many people who, for work and personal reasons, use more than one mobile device and feel the need to be able to synchronize communications that they receive on all devices in real time. Thanks to multi-device modeThat is coming to iOS as wellthe situation is finally about to change.

The multi-device function was launched by WhatsApp only last month and made accessible only to some beta users for the Android testing phase. The consensus was almost unanimous and for this reason it was decided to make it possible even for iPhone users.

Multi-device mode allows users to use the same account on multiple devicesto send and receive calls and to exchange messages while maintaining the connection on both smartphones or iPhone.

The level of privacy does not change compared to the previous solution, but remains high. Thanks to end-to-end encryption, which is guaranteed on all communication exchanges, conversations can continue in total security.

The companion mode it has now been made available to more users. Those who can already access it and want to link other devices to an already existing account must click on Connect this device on the phone number registration screen e scan a QR code provided by WhatsApp on the primary device, framing it with the rear camera of the secondary device.

After connecting the other iPhone, the chat is automatically synchronized on all connected phones. When a message is received, it is sent to all devices, always maintaining encryption.

Companion mode for iOS, some limitations and advantages

As with Android, the multi-device mode has some limitations. Not all actions can be performed by secondary devices, such as the ability to manage broadcast lists or status updates.

There are a maximum of four devices that can be connected to the same account. This makes the feature particularly appreciated by all those who use WhatsApp for work reasons or within a company to communicate with their customers.

Other news coming to WhatsApp concern the possibility to prevent the disappearance of messages and a feature that allows GIFs to play automatically.
