Xiaomi presents the low cost Smart TV 5A and the futuristic Xiaomi OLED Vision TV

During a very rich event aired in India, in the morning Xiaomi presented a pair of smart TVs, including the economical Xiaomi Smart TV 5A in 3 cuts, and the first OLED TV in the country, the Xiaomi OLED Vision.

During an event held in India to also present the Xiaomi Pad 5 tablet and the top range Xiaomi 12 Pro, the Chinese brand also presented two new smart TVs, including the economical Xiaomi Smart TV 5A and the suggestive and evolved Xiaomi OLED Vision.

The Xiaomi Smart TV 5A has a metal body with very contained frames and, on the base, two spaced feet: the visual area depends on the diagonal. In the 32-inch model you come across HD Ready (1,366 × 768 pixels), while in the 40-inch and 43-inch models there is FullHD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels). The viewing angle is always 178 °, and the refresh rate also remains at 60 Hz on all cuts.

Audio is also somewhat dependent on size. All models benefit from support for Dolby Audio and DTS: X | standards DTS Virtual: X, except the small 32 ”model, which does without DTS: X. The sound output is entrusted to a single speaker, 20 watts in the small model, and 24 watts in the two larger models, 40 and 43 “. To coordinate the hardware there is a processor with 4 Cortex A55 cores assisted by a Mali-G31 MP2 graphics card: the storage is 8 GB, while the RAM is 1.5 GB on all models except the small one, where it drops to 1 GB.

The space is however adequate for the operating system, Android TV based 11, covered by the proprietary PatchWall interface, with 300 free live channels, a child mode, and universal search through the IMDb database. The ports on the back of the Xiaomi Smart TV 5A, however equipped for Bluetooth 5.0 and dual band Wi-Fi, include the AV input for the antenna, the 3.5 mm jack for headphones, a pair of HDMI 2.0 (with ALLM and, on one of the two, the ARC), an optical input, and an RJ45 port for the Ethernet. The prices, from May 19th, foresee 15.999 rupees (197 euros) for the 32 “, 22.999 rupees (283 euros) for the 40”, 25.999 rupees (320 euros) for the 43 “.

The Xiaomi OLED Vision is one of the thinnest smart TVs ever, with a 4.6 mm profile. Basically, it mounts for the True 10-bit display resolved in 4K (3840 × 2160 pixels) from 55 “of self-illuminated panels, extended on 97% of screen-to-body, with 1500000: 1 contrast, support for high dynamic range (HDR10 + and Dolby Vision IQ), 98.5% on the DCI-P3 color gamut, and 60 Hz refresh rate: there is no shortage of video fluidization technology with low frame-rates, here known as Reality Flow, IMAX certification Enhanced and the contribution of the 2nd generation Vivid Picture Engine. On the sound side, the manufacturer boasted the presence of 4 active and as many passive drivers, with a speaker, with a 1.4-liter cavity, with a power of 30 watts, benefited from support for DTS: X.

Always animated by the PatchWall interface, Xiaomi’s OLED Vision TV proposes a processor with 4 Cortex A73 cores supported in processing by 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB for storage. In the model in question there is Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 while, as for ports, there are a 3.5 mm jack, an Ethernet, an AV, a pair of USB and a trio of HDMI 2.1. The price obviously goes up a lot, reaching around 1,110 euros (89,999 rupees).
