With the aim of standing out from the crowd of competitors who often opt for Android or Google TV, Xiaomi has announced a pool of three F2 smart TVs, made in concert with Amazon, with consequent integration of the Fire TV.

In an increasingly crowded market such as that of smart TVs, Xiaomi, which in its native China does not struggle to impose itself, with models of all kinds, including OLED and 100-inch models, has decided to play a surprise card by announcing, in collaboration with Amazon, the Xiaomi TV F2 series with integrated Fire TV.

Resting on two plastic side feet, the new Xiaomi TV F2 are three, differentiated more than anything else by the diagonal of the visual panel, from 43 inches (957.2 x 241.4 x 607.1 mm for 6.86 Kg + 90 grams), 50 inches (1111.2 x 309.7 x 710.1 mm for 9.1 Kg + 200 grams) and 55 inches (1225.8 x 309.7 x 777.9 mm for 11.06 Kg + 200 grams). The back is in sheet metal and houses various ports, including two USB 2.0, a 3.5 mm audio jack, the CI + slot for pay-TV, two coaxial inputs for decoders, for digital terrestrial and satellite (DVB- T / T2 and DVB-S2, with HEVC Main10 10-bit video transcoding and the latest offshoot of HbbTV interactive TV), and four HDMIs (basically 2.0, although one has a 2.1 function, i.e. eARC, useful to take advantage of the Dolby Atmos present in any connected soundbar). Wireless connectivity includes Bluetooth 5.0, dual band Wi-Fi, and the integration of AirPlay for casting from Apple devices.

In front, between slender frames, there is a 4K UltraHD panel (therefore from 3,840 x 2,160 pixels), with 1.07 billion colors, 90% on the DCI-P3 color gamut, 71% on the BT2020, 10-bit color depth output (starting from 8 via FRC), 60 Hz refresh rate, 230 nits of maximum brightness and just over 5000: 1 contrast (in 43 ”), HDR in the HLG and HDR10 standards, MEMC to fluidize moving images. On the audio side, Xiaomi’s F2 series of smart TVs mounts two 12W speakers, with support for Dolby Audio, DTS-Virtual: X and DTS-HD.

The processing sanctum of the Xiaomi TV F2 is represented by the MediaTek MT9020 processor, a 1.5 GHz quadcore, with Mali-G52 MP2 graphics card (capable of managing the AV1 codec), 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage: the operating system , under the Smart TV interface, is Fire OS 7.2.7.8, based on Android 9, carrying various streaming services (Netflix, YouTube, Disney +, Now, Prime Video, RaiPlay, DAZN, Mediaset Infinity, etc), of the support to voice commands for Alexa (via microphone on the remote control, also equipped with infrared and alphanumeric keypad) or via compatible speaker. From the FireOS interface, it is also possible to access some presets for images, even in HDR (Standard, Cinema “, Sport, Game, PC) and audio (Standard, Music, Film, Clear Voice, Enhanced Bass) and the references to live broadcasts.

Sales, on Amazon.it and mi.com, have just started: the 43 ”model, while stocks last and for one week, will cost 339 instead of the usual 399 euros. The 50 “model will cost 379 instead of 449 euros, and the 55” model, again in the first week of the promo, will require 419 instead of 499 euros.
