Xiaomi Walkie-Talkie 3: official with 5,000 km of coverage and 4G LTE

A niche sector of Xiaomi hardware is the one that sees the Chinese brand also committed to providing walkie-talkies which, however, made with some concessions to modernity, such as 4G which allows it to ensure various types of contact up to 5,000 km.

The immense assortment of Xiaomi products ranges in practically every category, even including walkie-talkies, still widely used in some work contexts in which they are preferable to a smartphone: precisely in this category, where in 2019 it was sato launched one, thanks to the partner BeeBest, the new Xiaomi Walkie-Talkie 3 has arrived.

The Xiaomi Walkie-Talkie 3 shares the minimalism of its predecessors, but is less wide and narrower, always characterized by symmetrical curves on both sides to preserve the comfort of the handle: the chassis is waterproof and immune to dust according to the degree IP54 and houses, on the front, a 2-inch display. Thanks to Bluetooth it is possible to use headphones which, otherwise, can be connected in wired mode, thanks to the 3.5 mm mini-jack.

Inside the Xiaomi Walkie-Talkie 3 operate a 40 mm speaker and a professional-level chip for audio processing: the latter takes care of supporting the noise reduction algorithm (to which 10.9% is attributed distortion reduction) and the volume increase by 30%.

Currently launched in China, the Xiaomi Walkie-Talkie 3 supports the 4G LTE of the main three telephone operators in the country and, in this way, increases the coverage of intercom communications to 5,000 km, surpassing traditional walkie-talkie models in an unparalleled way. Specifically, within this range, the new Xiaomi device allows intercom communications from 1 to 1, from 1 to many (allowing you to “create an independent team”), without neglecting bi-directional voice calls. Also thanks to the above connectivity, updates via OTA are supported, so that other functions can also be enabled in the future.

On the energy side, the Xiaomi Walkie-Talkie 3 is equipped with a 3,000 mAh battery, which can be charged via microUSB Type-C: when fully charged, the device ensures up to 100 hours in stand-by which, in a context of real operation, translate in any case a remarkable 60 hours. Waiting for a global landing, perhaps through the usual international importers (Bangood and Aliexpress), the Xiaomi Walkie-Talkie 3 can be purchased in China, at a price of 399 yuan, equal to approximately 58 euros.
