Amazon Prime Video: Amazon products will be offered during breaks

Amazon is working to implement new advertising solutions in the context of its streaming platform Prime Video.

In this context, the technological giant has decided to introduce some new solutions which, presumably, will first be tested in markets such as the American one and then introduced to the rest of the world.

Specifically, we are talking about three types of advertisements. In the first case we are talking about the so-called carousels, therefore images that alternate as if they were classic slides. If the user interacts with this type of content, the video content is automatically paused, in order to allow the possible purchase of the advertised product.

The interactive paused adsinstead, are offered right when the streaming comes paused. We are talking about banner o pop-up semi-transparent, equipped with CTA buttons that will allow you to add the advertised product to your cart or obtain further information about it. By resuming viewing of the video content, obviously, this type of ad disappears.

Finally there is another type of interactive ads, which will appear during stream playback. These will offer products, but also rewards in shopping credits on Amazon.

Commercials during breaks and beyond: here are the new Amazon Prime Video policies

According to what was stated on the website of Deadlinethe new Prime Video ads will be tested in the United States, probably as early as this month maggio.

Overall, Amazon is having a good time, with a Q1 2024 earnings report showing growth in revenue. advertising revenue of 24% every year. A positive result which, apparently, influenced the new advertising strategy implemented on Prime Video.

Despite this, it should be remembered that the introduction of advertising on the platform caused quite a bit of discontent among users, with a lawsuit filed against the company last February. On the other hand, Amazon has also recently raised the prices associated with this service.
