A few weeks after the announcement of the new professional laptops of the Precision and Latitude lines, a powerful mobile gaming station also arrives on the market, represented by the new DELL G15 5525 based on various AMD solutions.
One year after the previous model, the American brand DELL has announced a new gaming laptop, the G15 5525, already available for purchase in the American market, starting from 899.99 dollars, in the alternative colors Dark Shadow Gray, Phantom Gray and Spectro Green.
Rather massive, with 2.4 kg of weight for 357.2 x 272.8 x 24.9 / 26.9 mm, the DELL G15 5525 varies its thickness depending on the configuration chosen in the GPU: in this case, the GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card brings with it the processor AMD Ryzen 5 6600H, whereas, opting for one of the various GeForce RTX 3050 Ti, RTX 3060, RTX 3070 Ti, the processors that you will find will be a Ryzen 7 6800H or a Ryzen 9 6900HX. What does not change is the rest of the logical compartment: basically, the laptop is “baked” with 16 GB of 4,800 MHz DDR5 RAM, but the maximum expandability is 32 GB while, for the SSD storage (NVMe M .2), the highlight is reached with 2 TB. To keep the temperatures in check, without too much noise, is the heat dissipation system.
The DELL G15 5525, in fact, borrows from its Alienware cousins a complex that uses 4 copper heatpipes, as many air intakes, and a pair of fans with ultra-thin blades. Still on the subject of hardware, the device is equipped with the card for Wi-Fi 6, drawing energy from a battery that can be 56Wh, 3-cell, powered at 180W, or 86Wh, 6-cell, powered at 240W. .
Wide open, the gaming workstation in question reveals a 15.6-inch display, offering several choice options: the user, in fact, will be able to evaluate the configuration with a FullHD panel (from 120 Hz with 250 nits, or from 165 Hz with 300 nits ), or the one with a QHD panel (2560 x 1440 pixels therefore), more performing also in the refresh rate (240 Hz) and in the brightness (400 nits). The webcam is 720p, with dual microphone array, in the name of a multimedia segment that is completed with two speakers prepared for Dolby Atmos.
On the other hand, the keyboard is revealed, with optional backlighting (all red or RGB in 4 zones), immune to liquid spills, and with numeric keypad, with the camera body offering several ports laterally, including a 3.5 combo jack mm, one RJ45 for Ethernet, one HDMI 2.1, one USB 3.2 Type-C of 2nd gen (with data transfer at 10 Gbit / s), and three USB 3.2 Type-A of 1st gen (5 Gbit / s).
