After kicking off 2024 with the Vision Pro and, subsequently, the M3-powered MacBook Air, it’s time for Apple to announce new devices. The Cupertino company is currently sending invitations to the press for a event entitled “Let Loose” which will be held on May 7th at 4pm (Europen time). Few doubts about it: in exactly two weeks the Cupertino giant will unveil the new iPads.
There has already been a certain amount of talk about the new generation of Apple tablets for several weeks, especially thanks to news spread by names of a certain reliability, such as Mark Gurman Of Bloomberg. And then, the invitation itself takes care of sweeping away any discussion, where the company logo does not go unnoticed with a (challenged) in the center Apple Pencil.
Compared to the latest updates (mainly focused on the processor), this time Tim Cook and his associates should present some more substantial innovations. In this regard, regarding iPad Pro we talk about the transition to OLED technology for the display, the adoption of the M3 chip, thinner frames, MagSafe wireless charging and the repositioning of the front camera (on the “long side”, like on the 10th generation iPad).
There is also a lot of curiosity about the line Air. According to rumors, the larger model will have a 12.9-inch display. And even in this case the camera should find a new position, finally on the long side.

Finally, in the rumors of the last few weeks there has also been space for accessories, such as a nuova Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro and Third generation Apple Pencil with support for the new “squeeze” gesture.
For the occasion, Apple has also updated the home of its website (US version), where the banner dedicated to the May 7th event is now prominently displayed.
