Apple is preparing a super display for the iPhone 17, scheduled for 2025

Apple continues to equip its own iPhone basic with displays significantly inferior to the Pro models. These are panels which, although the prices are very high, continue to have a frequency of 60Hz while the rest of the mobile devices have been using more fluid and higher frequencies for some time now.

However, according to what is reported in a new report, Apple may finally be ready to make the leap in quality that users are demanding. According to some highly accredited sources, the Cupertino company will most likely equip all four models in the series iPhone 17 of panels OLED LTPO.

Apple ready to launch LTPO panels for iPhone 17 in 2025

Apple intends to make a big leap in quality, or rather to ensure that basic devices can make it. In fact, in 2025 there could be a transition from current technology LTPS used in the “non-Pro” models to the OLED LTPO one. This would pave the way for ProMotionvariable refresh rate a 120 Hz which has been exclusive to the Pro models for a few years.

The reason, listening to a source in the industry, highlights the need for differentiation. Since the differences between the current iPhone 15 and the next iPhone 16 will be minimal, the iPhone 17 series will necessarily have to be more innovative.

This transition to LTPO panels is very significant as ProMotion technology allows the latest generation Apple products to dynamically adjust the refresh rate between 120 and 1 Hz to balance battery consumption. This flexibility results in smoother images and animations only when needed.

With this solution, the 14 Pro and 15 Pro models boast displays always-on, capable of showing various information including clock, widgets and notifications even when blocked. All this could be one more reason for users to buy a “non-pro” iPhone.
