Bluesky allows users to manage their own moderation services

The microblogging platform Bluesky is preparing to offer an open source moderation management tool, known as Ozoneto its users.

The social network in question, in fact, will offer ample margin of maneuver in terms of control and censorship of contents, with a system that will allow users to subscribe to additional moderation services.

Although Bluesky has staff responsible for content control, with a series of scrupulous rules, the new system will be able to offer the possibility of to label e hide certain types of posts.

A practical example is provided by the same platform. Ozone could be used to create a moderation service for arachnophobic, with a block for images of spiders or similar. Not only that: the user could then act on their own, reporting any images that escape the notice filters.

Jay Graber, CEO of Bluesky, this opportunity will allow community creators to personalize their experience, creating environments tailored to certain target users and with their own rules. As explained by the platform, Ozone will allow you to create block listswhich in any case will not be linked to individual accounts.

This introduction is only the latest in a long series, which began with the launch of closed beta of Bluesky during 2023, after two long years of waiting since the first announcement. Among the various introductions that have followed we can mention the possibility of hosting servers, i feed customized and many others, with different implementations which, presumably, will be integrated over the next few months.

The opening to the public, which took place last February, has already had a more than appreciable effect: in fact they are 5 million users currently registered with BlueSky.
