Google Drive is updated with very important improvements

The attention of Google to its platforms is constant and this is demonstrated by the latest updates, among which there is something that also concerns Google Drive. In fact, a couple of new features and improvements just arrived here in just one week. The improvements made to the video playback and to research they are part of the last two updates that will arrive soon for everyone as they are being distributed.

Among the most notable changes added to the app is a significantly improved search experience. The changes can be summarized in three key aspects:

  • Simplifying the way users access search filters by introducing filter categories accessible directly below the search bar. These are named as “File Type”, “Owners” and “Last Modified”.
  • The addition of relevant search filters when typing the question, thus allowing the user to easily select a filter without having to complete the writing.
  • New options to further refine your search after reaching the results page lately.

However, there is news that many will not like, namely that these improvements will only be implemented on devices iOS. Google actually said that Android users will get them very soon too, but we’ll have to wait. All these changes are already available to customers of Google Workspacefor Google Workspace Individual subscribers and for users with personal Google accounts.

In addition to the search improvements, Google Drive is also officially receiving some new features video playback. Users who have noticed the usual problems related to video playback within the famous BigG service can finally breathe a sigh of relief. Continuous buffering will be a distant memory as improvements have been enabled. More precisely, Google has integrated the playback of transcodifiche video Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH). This therefore involves adaptive bitrate playback: users can count on higher or lower resolution playback based for example on the quality of the local network.
