Immersive View expanded to new cities, including Venice and Florence
The Immersive View of Google Maps reaches new points of interest, and this time Europe is also included. The feature was announced in 2021, but only a few cities “participated” in the inauguration, namely Barcelona, Athens, London, New York, San Francisco and Tokyo.
A few hours ago, Big G announced that the mode is now also available for Amsterdam, Dublin, Florence, Venice and the most important monuments of Milano (Duomo, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele III, Teatro alla Scala and others), Roma (Colosseum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and others) e Pisa (Tower of Pisa).
Per use Immersive View just search for cities, monuments and places of interest in Google Maps and touch the first visible photo in the lower panel. The one with the writing “Immersive View”.
Quick directions
Google Maps will also make its debut later this month quick directions. It is a simplified version of the traditional navigation mode, with clearer and more immediate indications.
When activated, this mode also streamlines the interface, which is also visible on the lock screen of both iPhones and smartphones with the Android operating system.
The Recent section is renewed
The board Recent of Google Maps will soon also remember the journeys that have not been completed but that have only been taken into account by the user. Yes, Big G will save the trips studied after closing the browser.
This is not such a stunning feature, but there is no doubt that it will make life much easier for those who usually plan multiple trips and who, in doing so, may lose their bearings.
The three updates described above will be available in Google Maps in the next weeks. Immersive view for Venice, Florence and some places of interest in Milan, Pisa and Rome is already active, but does not yet show the degree of crowding of the area.
