At the beginning of the year, Google presented Immersive View, a feature that would allow users to preview their entire route before setting off. It will work with artificial intelligence by combining billions of Street View and aerial images to provide a detailed view of the route, curve by curve.
Furthermore, the information necessary to plan the route will be provided, such as simulated traffic and weather. This novelty will probably be launched this week for Android e iOS in 15 cities including Amsterdam, Barcelona, Dublin, Florence, Las Vegas, London, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Paris, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle, Tokyo and Venice.
Lens within Google Maps
The functionality Lens for maps was launched during last November 2022 only for some cities, but is now preparing to expand to 50 new places. Among the names of the designated cities there is also Rome.
This is an augmented reality feature that provides the information needed to find nearby points of interest such as ATMs, public transport stations and restaurants. All this by simply holding the phone up, almost framing the surrounding area.
