Google has officially announced the opening of a new research center dedicated entirely to cybersecurity. This, named Google Safety Engineering Center (GSEC), will be based in the Spanish city of Malaga.
The GSEC presents itself as a hub entirely dedicated to network security, a meeting and collaboration point for experts, researchers, businesses e governmentsto create new effective synergies against Web threats. The center, as it is easy to imagine, will make all the cutting-edge tools available to monitor and address any type.
This type of initiative is not the first for the Mountain View giant. In fact, there are two GSEC centers a Dublin e Monaco but, the opening of the facility on the Spanish coast, demonstrates once again how Google is taking the issue of cybesecurity.
The numbers also bear witness to what has just been said. Google, in fact, has already formed 12 million people across Europe in the context of cybersecurity. Through a massive investment (10 million dollars) the IT giant’s intention is to continue training and preparing personnel in this context.
GSEC of Malaga and AI: initiatives to make the Internet a safer place
On the occasion of the announcement of the new GSEC, to demonstrate the many threats present online today, a new study was also presented VirustTotal. This shows how theArtificial intelligence it is not only a danger in this context, but also represents a possible solution to many potential attacks.
In fact, AI tools are making great strides in identifying malicious code. VirusTotal data highlights how the malicious scripts are identified with a accuracy greater than 70% compared to more traditional techniques.
