For several years, in fact, owners of a smartphone with the Big G operating system have been loudly asking the technology giant for more “flexibility” on the Google Play Storea request finally listened to by the company which has been allowing people to download for a few days now two applications at the same time.
Google Play Store, the new function
As well known to all smartphone users AndroidUntil recently, to download two applications from the Google Play Store it was necessary to “queue up”, with several downloads starting automatically upon completion of the previous one.
An unsustainable situation for many which, in some ways, has also limited them very high-end smartphonemore than capable of handling more such operations.
Fortunately, however, now things have changed and the Mountain View company has implemented the new feature that allows users to download simultaneously.
The news comes directly from 9to5Google who confirmed that the feature is already available with the latest Google Play Store update to version 40.6.31.
At the moment, however, it is a half victory and the function is limited to two downloads only. Therefore, users will be able to download a maximum of two applications at the same time and, if there are other files in the queue, they will have to wait patiently for the queue to scroll, with the download starting automatically as soon as the download of the two apps at the top of the list has finished.
Even if after all these years users expected something more, it is still a good step forward that significantly speeds up the use and management of your Android smartphone.
How to use the function
Despite the importance of this innovation, it must be remembered that the functionality is only available for the latest version of Android and, of course, the same goes for the Google Play Store.
Therefore, all users who use a previous release of the operating system and the virtual store are not yet able to meet the requirements for the update (and probably never will be).
To try the function, therefore, first you need to update your device. To check for new update packages, you need to go into the Settings, tap on the item System info (o Android version informationdepending on the device in use) and check the availability of the update.
It is good to remember that it may be necessary to see the package first wait a few more days (this also depends on your device) and if necessary, try again later.
If the device is no longer able to receive updates, all that remains is to put your soul at rest and wait until you have to buy a new, more modern smartphone.
