It will activate exclusively and automatically at night when certain conditions arise. If a minor user remains active on the social network for more than ten minutes by viewing Reels or interacting with direct messages, the a notification that will take up the entire screen and who will invite him to ask for the application and go to sleep.
Instagram spokespersons stated that they strongly wanted the introduction of this function to allow teenagers to spend on the app time in a meaningful and intentional way. Sleep, they said, is particularly important for young people and, for this reason, they decided to try to limit the use of the app during the night hours.
At the moment, it has not been disclosed which age group will be affected by the feature.
