Of course, this is not official information yet Apple we never come clean when we talk about these things, but it is undeniable that there is a lot of curiosity about it, especially because already with the current version of the operating system and with the current iPhone 15, users have obtained many interesting features, which bodes well for the future evolutions of the famous Apple’s software.
There are still several months left before the official release of iOS 18 and, as they say in these cases, we navigate practically by sight, but usually when rumors become so insistent on the web it is legitimate to assume that they are not so far from the reality of the facts . Here’s what we know
iOS 18 the main innovations
Among the first to anticipate something about iOS 18 there is Mark Gurmanfamous journalist of Bloombergwhich he believes the next operating system will have very important new features it’s a completely revised design compared to the past.
The first big news concerns Siri which will evolve thanks to a powerful generative artificial intelligence which Apple has been working on for some time.
According to Gurman, this upgrade will give much more power to the virtual assistant and much more autonomy in carrying out its functions. Among the most interesting rumors are those regarding the possibility of the smart assistant automate extremely complex operations via the application Shortcuts which will become even more efficient.
Furthermore, it seems that AI will enhance Siri to the point of making it fully integrated to the various applications on future iPhones which, obviously, will also obtain enormous benefits from this synthetic intelligence.
It is not yet clear whether all this power will need specific hardware but, if so, it could probably be the “enhanced” version of Siri exclusive toiPhone 16.
After all, Apple developers have been working on their own generative artificial intelligence for some time and it wouldn’t be strange if they wanted to make the most of its possibilities to be able to enhance the company’s future devices.
Finally the other big news will be the standard for sending RCS multiplatform messages via the app Messages.
This feature has been announced for some time and, according to Apple’s statements, it will arrive “from the end of next year”, therefore compatible with the release of iOS 18.
This should bring many improvements for users, including the ability to send high resolution photos and videossend audio messagesthe reading receipts, best cryptographic protocols and much more.
When iOS 18 arrives
At the moment there is still no official release date for the new operating system although, probably, iOS 18 will be officially presented in June 2024during the WWDC developer conference organized by Apple.
To arrive on the market, then, we will have to wait for the release of the future ones iPhone 16 which, as happens every year, is set for September.
