iPhone 16, Apple thinks of the 2 TB that some were waiting for with iPhone 15

The last period, which saw Samsung as the protagonist with the new Galaxy S24, seems to have also provided other information to lovers of the smartphone world. The latest have brought to the most curious users new interesting news about the rival company, namely Apple. In fact, it seems that the rumors about the series iPhone 16 are arriving again and again with important advances.

Just recently there has been discussion regarding the design, which will see the introduction of a new button “Capture” which will guarantee new photographic controls. However, as with any indiscretion, it could just be fake news that hides something else but we will only know when Apple presents its next iPhone series in September 2024.

In the meantime, however, the news that the new range will be the protagonist with important updates on the cuts seems to be gaining more and more traction memory. The new iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max could in fact double their storage capacity.

iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max with 2 TB: we’re talking about the new QLC memories

In fact, as we read on the web at the moment, the leakers are talking about a version with internal storage on board for a long time 2 TB. This could all be made possible by the introduction of new type flash memory QLC. Many are in doubt: the same person had anticipated, shortly before the launch of the new 15 Pro and Pro Max, that these would have the talked about 2 TB memory cut.

Precisely for this reason giving credit could be complicated, but it seems plausible that this type of upgrade could actually be applied this time.

The mention of the use of the new QLC flash memories, however, is in line with some previous rumors. This choice would reduce Apple’s costs and would also allow for greater memory capacity in the same physical space used to date. QLC are flash memories NAND on four levels and can accommodate 4 bit for each cell, while the current TLC memory can accommodate 3. This would therefore guarantee, in addition to greater data storage, also greater speed.
