The iPhone 15 series was launched just a few months ago, but there are already lots of rumors about what the future will be. Obviously it will be in the name of iPhone 16. Just during the last few hours a leaker would have published details that should belong to the possible photographic sector that will concern the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro.
Precisely on X it was anticipated with some rumors that the iPhone 16 Pro line will include an updated main camera from 48 MP. More specifically there will be a new sensor that will offer the same pixel size as 1,22 micron but with an overlapping design.
Two-layer transistor pixel technology will be used Sony for superimposed sensors. The benefits will be the even wider dynamic range and a significant reduction in noise in shots.
iPhone 16 Pro, there will also be an updated ultrawide
The news that has been making the rounds on the web in the last few hours would have also anticipated something else. In fact, it seems the iPhone 16 Pro series could be equipped with a lens ultrawide and 48 MP. This would be a big leap in quality compared to the current one which offers “only” 12 MP on the Phone 15 line. This will allow Apple to get closer to Androidwhich has already seen its flagships equipped with this feature for a while.
A 48MP ultrawide camera should help capture better details, especially in low-light conditions when paired with the technology pixel binning. Some experts say that the implementation of such a sensor could also allow the capture of video at a higher quality than 4K at 0 fps. Therefore Apple may also choose to adopt video recording 5K or higher.
As far as the rumors talking about the iPhone 17 Pro are concerned, it should be the sensor that gets an update 5x. This should go from the current 12 MP to 48 MPthus marking the arrival of a higher resolution.
