After the first tests at the end of June 2023 of IT-Alert, the public alarm system which will become active nationwide over the next few months and will be managed by the Civil Protection returns to field tests also at the beginning of July a series that covered Sardinia a few days later. IT-Alert tested in Sicily: watch out for smartphones
We have already tried to understand what IT-Alert is and how it works alerts citizens in the event of major natural disasters. Above you can view an illustrative video published by the official profile of IT-Alert, in which you can clearly see the activation of one notification accompanied by an audible alert, followed in turn by a voice message which will invite the population to follow the instructions provided in a specific circumstance. In this case, being a test, the message will simply include a warning of the test in progress. In the future, however, it could be used to warn citizens of earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, intense rainfall, nuclear accidents and more.
Today at around 12:00 Sicilian citizens should not be frightened when they hear an alarm from their smartphone: it is the IT-Alert notice which can be deactivated in secondsby simply pressing on the notification shown on the screen.
