Microsoft: growing earnings with Artificial Intelligence and cloud

Microsoft has officially announced the financial data for the coming quarter from January to March and, apparently, it is a good period for the Redmond giant.

The company has in fact recorded an increase in receipts equal to 17% on an annual basiswith a turnover of approx 61.9 billion dollars. According to data published by the company, the proceeds from Office 365 have increased by 15%: a comforting figure but lower than that recorded by other sectors.

In particular, Microsoft Cloud was able to benefit from the integration ofArtificial intelligencewith an increase in 23% every year. It does even better Azurewith a significant growth of 31%.

Not to be underestimated is the gaming sector, which sees Microsoft as an increasingly protagonist on a global level. Also thanks to the acquisition of Activision Blizzardwhich occurred last fall, the company increased its revenue for the sale of video games of the 51%. Contrary to this, there has been a physiological decline in sales regarding console Xboxwith a reduction of 31% of sales.

Microsoft’s turnover is positive, but the security issue worries the company

On the hardware side, however, it is not just the gaming sector that is suffering. If you consider devices such as Surface, HoloLens and various PC accessoriesMicrosoft had to take a cut of 17% every year. Overall, the technological giant still seems to be experiencing a positive period from a purely economic point of view.

What doesn’t make you sleep peacefully Satya NadellaCEO of Microsoft, are however the issues related to safety. Cases like the recent vulnerability Spectre and similar situations represent a real thorn in the side of the company which seems to be in great difficulty.

In fact, just a few weeks ago, Microsoft was accused by an American federal cybersecurity review board of being responsible for “A cascade of security failures“.
