Sony has officially announced the new versions of PlayStation 5two new consoles (Standard model and Digital model) which will arrive on the market with a design renovated and dimensions more contained.
No intervention at the hardware level, therefore, which with the exception of a larger SSD, remains the same in all respects as the “regular” PS5 model, which now arrived on the market about three years ago.

PlayStation 5, how the new model is made
As just said, the technical specifications of the console remain unchanged compared to the first version but, this time, Sony has opted for a nice change in terms of design.
The 2023 model of PS5in fact, it will be 30% smaller compared to the original and will have a weightinferior Of circail 18% for the version with Blu-ray player e 24% for the Digital version.
They also change removable panels that surround the device which become four instead of two and which can be removed to make room for the new collectible colors (in addition to the classic white) which will arrive in 2024.
Among the available colors we have Deep Earth, Volcanic Red, Cobalt Bluee Sterling Silver and can be purchased in the near future 50 euro each.
In addition, for the Digital version, it will be possible to remove one of the panels above to install a external Blu-ray player.
The new console, therefore, was born as Digital but users will have the possibility to purchase the console separatelydisk drive a 119,90 euro.
Furthermore, in the packaging of the new PlayStation 5 Slim, there is also room for the support to position the console in Horizon.
Per position it verticallyHowever, you will need to purchase the accessory separately at the price of 29.90 euros. An ambiguous decision to say the least given that the “natural” position of the PS5 (or at least the one that Sony shows in every shared image) is the vertical one. However, this accessory is also compatible with previous models.
The most important change made by the Japanese company concerns the storage space internal, with the console it will have a 1TB SSD against the 825 GB of the previous model.
Finally the last change concerns the USB portwith the new model it gets due porte USB-C in the front part e a USB-A holder on the rear one.
PlayStation 5, when it arrives
According to what Sony declared, the new onesPlayStation 5 Standard and PlayStation 5 Digital Edition will arrive in the United States starting from November.
With regard to the release in Europe, there is no confirmed date yet and the company simply says “in the next few months”. It is important to underline, however, that the new consoles will completely replace the old ones which, once stocks last, will no longer be available.
The price is in line with that of the current model with the PlayStation 5 Slim Standard Edition available at 549,99 euro e la Digital Edition a 449,99 euro.
