Samsung was without a doubt one of the most influential companies during the last MWC 2024 in Barcelona. The giant has tackled the marketing of its next wearable, the Galaxy Ring, in a rather unusual way. The rumors had been insistent for some time: Samsung had been working on a new smart ring for over a year with the surprise then being revealed to the public.
During the last Unpacked 2024 event reserved for the Galaxy S24, the South Korean brand left the last space for the image of the Galaxy Ring, tinging the tech world with mystery.
“When will it arrive?”, “What functions will it have?”. These are some of the questions that have flashed in users’ minds since that day in January. Today there could be an answer, after the much-talked-about ring was displayed in various versions during the Catalan event in visually inspected display cases.
Samsung’s Galaxy Ring will arrive in the summer of 2024
Although it has also been seen up close by several journalists and users lucky to attend MWC 2024, the Galaxy Ring is not official at all. At the moment little or nothing is known about the price and above all about the sales methods. Google It operates similarly with Pixel smartphones that are usually announced in the spring and released in the fall, although it offers some info.
In this case, the Samsung ring left an aura of mystery and great curiosity hovering but now everything seems clearer. According to some rumors that have leaked onto the internet in the last few hours, the new Galaxy Ring will be announced during the next Unpacked event. The show that will show the public the new Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 foldables which will be held in July will also welcome the long-awaited ring, which will therefore be marketed ad August.
According to what we learn, Samsung has decided to bring forward the event due to the Paris Olympic Games. These are probably the designated dates but there is more: the functions of the Ring at launch may be limited.
The initial batch according to experts will be 400,000 units with nine sizes to choose from. It will be a sort of sales test. If the Galaxy Rings on the market initially sell out quickly, a more massive production will be carried out.
There won’t be many features medical grade present, especially since the ring will need at least a year for the FDA issue the appropriate certification.
