Schenker Technologies, the German brand specializing in the creation of customizable computers and notebooks, after launching a renewed pair of laptops for the XMG sub-brand, has unveiled a renewed medium-high-end laptop, the Via 15 Pro, taking the opportunity also to upgrade Work 15 and 17 (M22) laptops.

The Shenker Via 15 Pro has an ultrabook frame (356.4 x 233.7 x 16.8 mm for 1.45 kg) with an aluminum bottom and the back of the AZ91D magnesium alloy display: despite the size, there are various ports (HDMI 2.0, one USB Type-C with charging and DisplayPort, a microSD reader, an RJ45 for Gigabit LAN alternative to Wi-Fi 6, a 3.5 mm combo jack, and three USB Type-A. Compared to the trend of opting for passive dissipation in thinner notebooks, in the model in question operate two fans.

Thanks to them, under the white backlit keyboard at various levels flanked by a Precision Touchpad, it is possible to set the octacore processor (1.8 GHz) with 16 threads Ryzen 7 5700U, which normally grants 15W of TDP to the high performance Enthusiast setting. and which, in the new conditions, without the danger of throttling, can reach 35W. Unfortunately, some compromises have also been reached, given that the manufacturer has decided to rely on the integrated graphics card of the AMD APU, or the 1,900 MHz Radeon Graphics.

For the memories, Shenker has opted for two SO-DIMM banks that allow you to reach up to 64 GB of RAM (DDR-3200, dual channel) while, for storage, two slots with PCI Express 4.0 interface stand out for as many M. 2. The data processed by this system, properly energized by the 91 Wh battery, are then shown on the 15.6-inch IPS LCD display, resolved in WQHDc (2560 x 1440 pixels), with 165 Hz refresh rate, 95% on the sRGB color scale. , and 350 nits of peak brightness. The webcam mounted, as per tradition above, is HD.

Currently, you can buy the Schenker Via 15 Pro on Bestware.com, at the starting price of 1,249 euros, benefiting from a set-up with 8 GB of RAM and 500 GB of Samsung 980 SSD.

Intended for companies are the Work 15 and Work 17 (M22) laptops. Both have a chassis covered, on the back and on the rear monitor, in aluminum, for better heat dissipation, which can count on another trick: by opening the two notebooks, and opening them up to 130 °, the base of the screen acts as a support, lifting the camera body (respectively 8.3 and 12 mm), in order to allow a more comfortable typing, on the keyboard with white backlight, but also to circulate the air under the hottest parts.

In the Work 15 M22 (357 x 220.5 x 19.9 mm for 1.7 kg) a 15.6-inch screen is adopted and a fingerprint scanner is present, while in the Work 17 M22 a 17.3-inch display is inserted and a large ( 15 x 9 cm) touchpad: diagonal aside, these are IPS LCD panels with about 90% on the sRGB color gamut, anti-flicker (PWM), 165 Hz refresh rate, and FullHD resolution. The webcam takes care of security by being able to support Windows Hello authentication.

For both the new Work 15 and 17 M22, secured by the TPM 2.0 cryptographic chip, 12th generation Intel processors of the P series have been chosen, with the user being able to insert in the configuration one of the two octacore with 16 threads provided, the ‘i7-1260P and i5-1250P, also supported by the Intel Iris Xe graphics card. The RAM, dual channel, DDR4-3200, can reach 64 GB via two SO-DIMM slots, while the storage counts on two slots for M.2 SSD (in one case interfaced via PCI Express 4.0).

Energized by 73 watt-hours of battery, the two Work 15 and 17 M22 are accompanied by Wi-Fi 6 and, as for ports, by RJ45 for Gigabit LAN, by audio combo jack, by three USB (one 3.2 Type-C), from an HDMI 2.0 (also here with HDCP anti-piracy) and the opportunity of Thunderbolt 4 with Display Port. Prices chapter. The Work 15 M22 starts at € 1,149 for 8 + 500 GB with the Core i5-1250P processor, while the Work 17 M22, with the same configuration, starts at € 1,179.
