Web App-Engaged: Malware hiding in Dropbox and Discord

According to a recent study, a new generation of malware is making itself known online, hiding on services such as Dropbox e Discord.

Web App-Engaged: a tool has been created to combat them but it may not be enough

WAE takes a more discreet approach than many other malware. According to researchers, disguising its malicious traffic operates covertly, carrying out its operations without arousing suspicion.

The team noted that addressing these threats requires concerted efforts involving multiple cybersecurity companies. In this regard, a tool capable of identifying and isolating WAE actions, known as Marsea.

After several tests, Marsea began to bear fruit: its use and the collaboration of web app providers led to the deletion of a large amount of malicious content.

Despite the adoption of this tool, the danger associated with Web App-Engaged remains real. In this regard, however, users must also do their part.
