WhatsApp: anti fake news limitations, camera restyling, Community news

The popular green messaging application, WhatsApp, in recent days reported various improvements in favor of voice messages but it certainly did not stop at this, reserving – after paying attention to the numbers not in the phone book – subsequent news for the limitation disinformation, the restyling of the in-app camera and for future communities.

Very often, in software, there is a tendency to prioritize one iteration rather than another, and then put things back together. The same thing is happening in these hours also for WhatsApp regarding a function aimed at limiting disinformation and the chains of fake news: last month, with the 2.22.7.2 release for Android, a new limit was introduced that restricts the re-sharing of messages labeled as “forwarded” to only one group chat at a time, with the consequence that, to send these messages, for example to another group, it must be selected from the beginning.

In the past few hours it has emerged that the same limitation is now also being released in favor of iPhones, through the WhatsApp beta for iOS bearing the iOS number 22.7.0.76: as usual, if you do not notice the improvement on your account, it could it may be necessary to wait a while, as activations on other users are expected in the coming weeks.

Another series of novelties, subject to the same reasoning as the progressive activations in the coming weeks, occurred with the release of the beta 2.22.8.11 for Android. Specifically, some beta testers in possession of the release in question will now be able to benefit from a new interface for the in-app camera: with the same, you get a new picker for photos which, when touched, presents the “Recent” and “Gallery”, in addition to the fact that, contrary to what has emerged in the past, the media-bar in the lower part of the interface has not been removed.

As known, for some time WhatsApp has been developing the Community function, to federate various groups, so that it will be possible to reach all users with a single message: after sighting a “Community Home” summary section, in the past few hours the application code of a version of WhatsApp for iOS has made it possible to ascertain new developments in this regard (also valid for Android), noting how the camera card at the bottom will be replaced by that for the Communities, touching which you will arrive in the aforementioned section where, if not there were still Communities (it will be possible to create them using a specific button) you will notice the information according to which a community brings together all the related groups, with the screen in question that, gradually, will populate all the Coms to which a user will be added or that he will create himself.
