As widely anticipated and with the spring season now upon us, Microsoft releases the long-awaited update package Windows 11 Moment 5. Its installation, which leads to the addition of a series of new features, starts on the systems of all those users who – in the main window of Windows Update – have activated the option Get the latest updates as soon as they are available. Windows 11 Moment 5 is available from February 29, 2024 Windows 11 23H2 and for those who still use Windows 11 22H2.
How to receive and install Windows 11 Moment 5 immediately
To ensure that you get Windows 11 Moment 5 on your system right away, you need to type Windows Update in the Windows 11 search box, enable the option mentioned above then launch the scan for available updates (button Check for updates).
Anyone who decides not to install Windows 11 Moment 5 starting today will find the package as an integral part of the optional updates next March. Subsequently, Windows 11 Moment 5 will be distributed to the entire user base of the latest Microsoft operating system as an integral part of the quality updates of April 2024 (starting from April 9th). The innovations introduced with Windows 11 Moment 5: we focus on Copilot
Microsoft highlights the new additions to Copilot from the Moment 5 update. First of all, ample space is given to third party plugins. With these software components, AI can interface with applications and services developed by companies other than Microsoft.
The first two examples of plugins supported by Copilot are OpenTable e Instacart which, respectively, allow you to quickly book a dinner or order food for a dinner at home.
New Copilot features also let you quickly access other settings, get information about your device, or launch accessibility features. For example, it is possible to activate/deactivate the energy saving mode, show device information, system and battery information, access the data storage management page.
Using Copilot you can also launch live captions, Narrator, show the screen magnifier, the voice access page, adjust text size, manage contrast themes. You can also view available WiFi networks, IP address, available space and request to empty the trash.
We remind you that Copilot is not yet officially available in the member states of the European Union: it will presumably be available starting from March 6th.
Artificial Intelligence for Clipchamp and Photos
The new versions of the apps Clipchamp e Photo they introduce artificial intelligence features, making photo and video editing a more intuitive experience. With Generative Erase in Photos, you can easily remove unwanted objects from images, while Clipchamp offers a new function that eliminates silences from video sequences.
Windows Autopatch
A great innovation consists in the union of Windows Autopatch e Windows Update for Business in a single service. This synergy offers businesses a more efficient way to manage device updates by leveraging the machine learning to determine when and which patches to install.
Improved sharing
Sharing options in Windows are expanding, now supporting popular applications like WhatsApp, Snapchat, and Instagram. Depending on the account used, after installing Windows 11 Moment 5, the operating system displays the list of apps to which you can send information.
Improved Snap Smart Suggestions and Widgets
The introduction of Snap Smart Suggestions makes managing open windows more efficient by suggesting appropriate layouts based on active applications.
Furthermore, thanks to updates to the Widgets function, users can organize them into categories, making the widget board tidier and more personalized.
Improvements in the casting and enterprise functionality
Windows 11 Moment 5 adds improved screen streaming management. The functionality casting offers an improved management menu and supports automated notifications.
On the slope enterprisenew features include a dedicated mode for Windows 365 Boot and the ability to customize the Cloud PC access interface.
