Musk’s comment came during a livestream conversation with the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. «A monthly payment is the only way I can think of to fight the bot army», said the face of Tesla, referring to the fact that, on balance, it might not be worth paying a certain amount to keep your bot active on the social network.
During the conversation, Musk also shared some number related to X, a platform which – after many new features, above all the change of name – seems to be struggling to gain the favor of the web population. Social would matter today approximately 550 million monthly users, which would generate 100 to 200 million posts every day. But how many of these accounts are actually bots?
These figures also do not allow a direct comparison with Twitter, therefore with the pre-Musk period, given that the user base was calculated with a different metric known as mDAU (average monetizable daily active user). In any case, according to its fiscal first quarter 2022 results, Twitter had 229 million “active users.”
It is not clear when and if how much will it cost. Musk talks about one small sumbut whether it is an acceptable figure or not, it certainly won’t be a welcome novelty for most usersi.
