These are times of great change for YouTube Music which, prior to Google I / 0 2022, received a home feed redesign to make the most of the more space available on its tablets and recently acquired a redesign on Android. for settings.
The changes for the well-known streaming platform, however, have not yet ceased. During the last kermesse for programmers, Google promised a redesign for the playlists which, concurrently with the event, went into A / B tests: in the past few hours, this restyling turned out to be in roll-out, with the headline 9to5google which found its adoption in the 5.08 and 5.09 releases, but with some distinctions on the type of devices involved since, with the exception of a Chromebook and an Android tablet, this restyling is not found on iPads and tablets animated by Android .
Another curious question relates to the lack of involvement of the albums, with the improvement in question which, on the other hand, only affects the playlists, both those created by the user and those generated automatically by the system.
Apart from that, the nature of the redesign for playlists includes a dual column view. On the left, there is a blurred background on which stands a cover, surmounted by the title of the playlist, also shown in large characters under it, before the relative description. At the top, in the left column, there is the name of the author of the playlist and the date of its last update: vice versa, at the bottom, there are several controls, for download, modification, playback, shuffle, sharing, and overflowing the menu call.
The right column, on the other hand, lists the songs in the playlist, which can be added or removed. In portrait mode, the interface places everything in a single column and, as you scroll past the cover, a moving action button appears, activating the random playback of the songs.
