A few days ago, Google officially presented the first beta of Android 15the next version of the mobile operating system destined to arrive on the market in second half of 2024.
Of course it’s only one very first release which shows just some of the innovations that Big G is bringing on board its software and which, with good possibilities, will already be supported by as many functions in development in the next few months.
From a first glance, however, it seems that the Mountain View giant intends to work much more onintegration between hardware and operating systemwith Android 15 which, taking as a model iOS Of Applecould work very closely with the Pixel.
Android 15, the main news
Most of the available updates concern the Dynamic Performance Framework of Android which, in short, helps the smartphone to manage the relationship between apps (especially those with high energy consumption) and the power system of the various devices.
At first glance, these innovations have the task of helping the device to better respond to the “requests” of the software towards the GPU, CPU and heat dissipation systems, guaranteeing better energy efficiencyalso for system tasks always active in the background.
A novelty which, on a visual level, does not mean anything for users who in many cases do not even realize the complex processes running on their device but which, in reality, is fundamental for improve overall performance.
The other updates concern the privacy and IT securitywith the devices they will get new defense systems against cyber threats and new ways for targeted advertising through Privacy Sandbox.
With Android 15 also comes the functionality for partial screen recordingalready introduced with one of the betas of Android 14, which allows you to record only the contents of a running application rather than the entire screen.
The latest news concerns an improvement in the use of camera with third-party appsfrom the little information it seems that there will be a mode to improve shots in low light conditions and probably new image processing modes for even better photos.
It is interesting to underline how, for the moment, the activities related to artificial intelligence which, most likely, will find their place in future releases.
When Android 15 arrives
According to initial information, Google intends to release the public betas of Android 15 between March and April, although for the moment more information is not yet available in this regard.
With good chances, however, the first part of 2024 will serve as a “run-in” for the new version of the operating system, allowing Google Pixel owners to try the upcoming features and provide the company with feedback on them.
The latest release of Android 15, therefore, could arrive only in September or October this year when the (probable) will be presented Google Pixel 9 and Big G will gradually begin distributing the software to all compatible devices.
