Android, here are 6 tips to simplify the use of the operating system

Android is certainly one of the mobile operating systems most used in the world and, despite a simple interface e quite intuitivecan be considered slightly more difficult than iOSfor example.

On the other hand, however, the software is widely customizable by users (much more than products Apple) who can organize it as they see fit, greatly simplifying its use and making it perfect for every need.

The most emblematic case are the elderly people who, despite wanting to switch to a super-technological smartphone, may encounter some difficulties, but even those users less accustomed to technology who may find themselves “disoriented” by the operating system. That’s why it’s worth listening to these six tips to improve your Android experience make it simpler the use of the software Google.

  • 1. How to manage font size

    One of the most common problems when using a smartphone with a small screen is due to character visibility.

    Not everyone knows but on Android it is possible to increase the size of the characters, so as to avoid eye strain.

    To do this just go up Settingstap on Accessibility and then up Visibility improvements.

    Scrolling down you will find the tab Font size and stylewhich the user can use, obviously, to enlarge the characters as he sees fit to make the use of Android.

    Alternatively you can also select a different font to make your smartphone unique.

  • 3. Enable 3-button navigation

    The three button navigationgenerally, is enabled by default but in some devices manufacturers may opt for a different system for managing their Android smartphone.

    This could significantly complicate the lives of users who, however, could be helped by this method which for many is more familiar.

    Therefore to enable the three button mode you can go to the Settings and then tap on the menu View. Here you have to scroll down to Navigation bar and select the option Buttonstaking care to choose the one above, with the possibility of customizing the order as you see fit.

  • 4. Create call shortcuts

    One of the most common tricks to improve the experience of Android is the widget called Direct Dial which allows you to create a shortcut to quickly call a number without having to look for it.

    To activate this function, simply long press on an empty spot on the Home screen and select the tab Widgetjust search among the available widgets Direct Dial and drag it to the home page.

    At this point all you have to do is tap on the new icon e set the number to call when it is touched and that’s it.

    By doing this, even in case of need, you will not have to search for the various numbers in the address book but will simply tap on the appropriate widget to make a call.

  • 5. Enable “easy mode”

    Samsung brand smartphones have a feature called Easy mode which, simply, makes using the Android smartphone easier, simplifying the user interface.

    An excellent solution to make your device more accessible, especially for those users who may find themselves in difficulty with the complete interface full of functions.

    By activating Easy Mode the smartphone will automatically increase the font size of the system, it will enlarge the app iconsit will increase touch delayand pressure to avoid accidental taps e will change the keyboard increasing the contrast.

    To enable Easy Mode just go to Settings and tap on Display.

    Here, you need to scroll down and tap on Easy modeby activating the relevant switch.

  • 6. Download a more intuitive launcher

    Finally, the last solution to make using an Android phone easier is to download an alternative launcher that can be personalized by users, making the user experience more immediate.

    There are many alternatives available on the Google Play Store and, among the most popular ones there are, BIG Launcher e Before Launcher; both need some minimal initial adjustments (which can perhaps be performed by someone more “expert”), but once configured they will make the use of the operating system very intuitive and truly within everyone’s reach.

    It must be underlined, however, that this last case is perhaps a little more “complicated” than all those just seen and, as just said, it may be necessary to ask for help from some more knowledgeable user on the subject.
