Apple doesn't make the same mistake: the MacBook Air M3

Il MacBook Air M3 just presented by Apple, although not bringing with it any aesthetic innovations, it convinced the community due to its improved performance, the possibility of using two external displays and the support of Wi-Fi 6E. However, the Cupertino giant also faced another “problem” that emerged with the previous generation of laptops, that of speed of the internal SSD.

The great news for all those who have purchased (or will purchase) the MacBook Air M3 with 256GB of storage

As many probably remember, the Air M2 with 256GB of storage uses a slower SSD compared to those installed in higher configurations. This is due to the use of a single 256GB drive instead of the two 128GB ones. In short, a big step back compared to the basic 256GB Air M1.

To avoid new controversies and, obviously, Don’t disappoint user expectations, Apple has adjusted the aim. User Gregory McFadden your X pointed out how the “base” MacBook Air M3 offers significantly higher speed in terms of SSD compared to the previous model. All this is confirmed by the teardown performed by Max Tech, which reveals the presence of two 128GB storage drives in the 2024 Apple laptop.

This means that i due chip NAND da 128GB of the MacBook Air M3 can process tasks in parallel, significantly increasing data transfer speed. Tests performed by Max Tech reveal that the Air M3 can achieve a write speed of 2108 MB/s, which represents a significant upgrade compared to the 1584 MB/s of the notebook with the M2 chip. The improvement is also clear as regards reading speed: 2880 MB/s (M3) vs 1576 MB/s (M2).

In short, it is not surprising that the MacBook Air M3 just launched by Apple (available in 13 and 15 inch versions) is so well received by the tech community. And come on too professionalssince, among other things, they will be able to push on the accelerator also thanks to a more performing SSD.
