The Display Week 2022 has started a few hours ago in San Josè, California, an important event during which Samsung, which in 2019 and 2020 realized the application of flexible and folding screens in the Galaxy Fold prima and in the Galaxy Z Flip then presented new variations for what it considers its most versatile displays ever.

After showing a classic OLED screen resolved in QHD with a value of 240 Hz for the refresh rate, suitable for premium notebooks (and perhaps used by Razer for its new Blade 15), the Seoul giant has indulged in terms of creativity , starting from the Flex G and Flex S OLED panels: the first folds twice, in both cases inside, while the second, while folding twice, does so once inside and the other outside.

There is also an extensible display which, compared to a similar BOE product, can be extended vertically, so as to facilitate the scrolling of apps or the consultation of digital documents (in papyrus style, in short).

At the Weeek 2022 Display fair, resumed after a 3-year break from coronavirus, Samsung also brought its own version of rollable display which, under the name of Sidable Wide, can be expanded on both sides, going from the more compact 8.1 to the more 12.4 inches wide ideal for multi-tasking and productivity. Definitely curious, then, revealing a possible use in a gaming perspective, it turned out to be the Flex Gaming, an OLED display, to which two controllers can be connected on the side (as in a Nintendo Switch) which, subject to inward folding , can be compacted, like a smartphone, to facilitate portability.

Finally, Samsung, which as known with its Display division also supplies its panels to other hi-tech manufacturers, did not fail to underline the potential applicability of its flexible displays also in the automotive context: this happened with the exhibitor dedicated to the category. of the Digital Cockpits, where the Asian brand showed three OLED panels of different diagonals, from 7 to 15.7, passing through 12.3 inches which, protected by glass, adapt to the most diverse applications thanks to the possibility of being curved.
