With an official communication, Microsoft announced that Clipchampa video editing app, will soon be available to commercial customers of Microsoft 365.

The editor in question, acquired in 2021 by the Redmond giant, is based on cloud technology and will integrate into a context already rich in platforms such as OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams and other productivity apps related to the company created by Bill Gates.

According to Microsoft, in fact, Clipchamp can become an excellent resource for those who want to create videos in the working context, whether they are demonstration videos or videos related to specific products. All with an app that is easy to use, even for those who are not experts in the videomaking sector.

The same company stated how “Clipchamp is built on OneDrive and SharePoint and is integrated with other everyday Microsoft productivity apps. Videos you export from Clipchamp can be shared via Microsoft Stream, embed and played in Microsoft Teams, Outlook emails and Microsoft Viva Engage, seamlessly modernizing your workflows“.

Later this month, Clipchamp will be available to Microsoft 365 customers through its release program. The app will be available in the Microsoft 365 Apps Launcher and a new option i.e Video Clipchampwill also be available in the menu Add new in the aforementioned OneDrive e SharePoint.

However, anyone who has used Clipchamp with a personal Microsoft account will not be able to transfer existing projects. Also Clipchamp app available for download from Microsoft Store it will not allow you to take direct action on Microsoft 365 work accounts.

At launch, Clipchamp will not have available also some of the active features instead for users with personal accounts. Absences are referred to as:

  • brand kits;
  • video stock;
  • audio and images;
  • text-to-speech;
  • automatic captions or subtitles;
  • advanced titles
  • annotations.
