With the presentation of its new ones Galaxy S24among which the S24 Ultra camera phone stands out, Samsung explained various photography features. Among these here is the generative photo editing with artificial intelligence, image expansion and improved zoom. During the last few hours, however, someone has also discovered other very interesting features that deserve further investigation and which were not mentioned during Unpacked 2024.
A series of additions related to the Galaxy S24 series camera have been spotted via the Korean-language community forum. Before seeing them, Samsung specified that the photographic sector will be generally faster.
Dual Recording
One of the most interesting changes is the now called Director’s View feature Dual Recording. This allows you to record videos from two smartphone cameras at the same time. For example, users will be able to record a movie at the same time with the front and main sensor, or perhaps with ultrawide e telephoto.
This is a great improvement compared to before, since this opportunity only concerned the selfie camera and the main sensor. Only on the S24 Ultra can the two clips recorded simultaneously be in 4K.
Samsung improves portrait photos and blur management
The company said it used artificial intelligence to improve the blur effect of subjects and objects, with a portrait never so powerful.
Typically, Galaxy series smartphones show an option to rework the blur in the photo editor, but with the S24 series there is something new: the phones will be able to detect dogs and cats by turning their photos into real portraits , despite not having taken the photo with that mode.
Expert RAW mode with 24 MP as default
Almost as if it wanted to follow Apple’s lead, Samsung has set i 24 MP default for its photography mode Expert RAW. The Galaxy S24s will provide a 24MP shot by combining multiple 12MP frames and a 50MP photo together.
It will be somewhere between a 12MP shot with pixel binning and a 50 or 200MP shot (depending on the smartphone used).
Samsung brings audio monitoring
The latest top of the range models from the South Korean giant now also offer audio monitoring functionality. This means that users will be able to listen minutely the sound picked up by the different microphones of the phone while recording videos.
This feature works by wearing headphones but also via wired or wireless speakers or via HDMI.
