Gmail now lets you unsubscribe from emails with one tap

Already a few weeks ago some very interesting news appeared on the web: Google was working to introduce a new, easier way to cancel your subscriptions to emails within the Gmail app. According to the latest information, the company would have started releasing this new solution without any warning.

Taking a look at the application dedicated to emails for the iOS operating system, someone would have spotted a new button “unsubscribe“. This would be positioned, just below the dedicated subject line of the emails, exactly above the written content. Some images demonstrate this perfectly.

Gmail now lets you quickly unsubscribe from emails

This newly introduced innovation represents a quick and simple method to unsubscribe from newsletters in a simple and intuitive way directly from your smartphone.

Previously, users had to do everything through a more cumbersome process. In fact, it was necessary to touch the three-dot menu at the top of the message received via Gmail and then choose the item “unsubscribe”. Another solution to proceed was to scroll to the bottom of the content to find the “unsubscribe” link that the sender of the email in question usually leaves.

This new feature therefore requires only one touch, no scrolling and no opening menus. This is essentially similar to the unsubscribe button found within the web version, which is exactly below the subject line and next to the sender details.

Unfortunately for users Android, at least for the moment we do not notice any new undo button. It’s a shame given that the operating system of the little green robot is the reference one with which Gmail was born.

Furthermore, this is not the first time that Google has introduced a new feature first on iOS and then on Android. We’ll see how soon the feature will arrive on BigG’s operating system.
