Among the many supported widgets, Google is preparing to introduce one soon, in relation to Google Maps, which will allow you to know the traffic situation in the vicinity of your position.

In the past few hours, Google celebrated, on its official blog “The Keyword”, the achievement of 35 widgets, offered on Android through its applications: for the occasion, the five favorite function widgets by the his team, among which there is one still unreleased but ready to be released in the coming weeks.
As known, in the Android home it is possible to place widgets, which offer access to a whole series of information, such as the weather, things to do, the latest emails received, etc., quickly, without having to open the ad hoc app from which this information is taken. Soon, among these data, there will also be an indication of the traffic in the vicinity of the user. The widget mentioned at the beginning by Google, in fact, is taken from Google Maps and, in a square shape (square with rounded corners), presents a small map, with a blue placeholder indicating the user’s position derived from his GPS.
The streets, just like in the full GMaps app, are colored in different shades, from green to red through yellow and orange, depending on the intensity of the traffic.
As with all widgets, also in this case the user can zoom in, to enlarge the map, or zoom out, to make it smaller. For this purpose, at the bottom right of the widget, you will also find the resize button, which, colored according to the background, betrays the support of the new widget for the principles of dynamic themes in vogue with Android 12. At the moment, the new widget for Google Maps, not yet introduced, it appears in the classic format of 2 × 2, but it is not excluded that, at the time of its debut, it may also take place in versions more suitable for larger screens, perhaps of a tablet.
In the meantime, it should be remembered for information that Google Maps has just introduced the function to estimate the price of road sections with tolls and, in some markets (USA and India) also that to know the healthiness of the air.
