Without making bombastic proclamations, YouTube TV has implemented an option for higher quality video playback, defined as 1080p Enhanced. However, the new function reserved for subscribers has remained in the shadows also due to some annoying issues bug.

A YouTube employee had announced on Reddit the implementation of the new standard, available for 4K compatible devices. Despite this, he later confirmed that this function is not yet available.

In fact, the option for 1080 Enhanced playback appeared (for a short time) for some users. Despite this, YouTube has backtracked, having identified a bug that prevents users from manage the setting manually. There is currently no word on when the setting will be available, although the developers are working to fix this issue.

YouTube TV is an advanced version, available via subscription, of the famous YouTube streaming platform. This has a substantial limitation: at the moment it is a service available only in the United States, unless you use one VPN to access it.

The introduction of higher quality videos, through the 1080p Enhanced option, is just one of the many introductions of the platform to attract new users. It is not for nothing that YouTube TV, in the States, is now a formidable competitor to the more traditional ones Cable TV. The small setback linked to the bug we just talked about, without a shadow of a doubt, will not affect the market positioning of this service.

In the rest of the world, there is undoubtedly another asset linked to Google that is doing particularly well YouTube Premium. According to some recent data, in fact, the platform has reached 100 million members, de facto proving to be a significant source of money for the Mountain View giant.
