HMDthanks to a collaboration with Mattelhas announced its intention to launch a new one on the market Barbie smartphone.
The company in question, which holds the historic brand Nokia, has not yet leaked specific technical data regarding the device. At the moment, in fact, no possible cases are known particular functions, design and even less so price range where the phone will be placed.
During an interview addressing this topic, HMD’s marketing manager Adam Ferguson he didn’t unbutton himself too much, stating how the phone will be something completely newcapable of standing out from the crowd.
In the past, the Swedish company announced that it wanted to gradually distance itself from the historic Nokia brand, identifying new commercial partners. In this sense, the collaboration with Mattel could only be the first of several initiatives, as admitted by Ferguson himself.
Barbie smartphone: for HMD it will be something completely new
Among the few certainties regarding Barbie’s smartphone is the launch window. Apparently, in fact, the device will be launched on the market during this summer.
The company, therefore, hopes to be able to take advantage of the attention that the public has given to the recent film, capable of revitalizing a brand that in recent years had perhaps lost a bit of luster.
In the meantime, despite the intentions to abandon the Nokia wording, HMD is also ready to offer a new phone with a clear flavor back which will carry precisely this brand. This product, according to the impressions of professionals, could also be available in the summer period.
However, HMD’s projects do not stop here. In fact, the company is hard at work to create HMD Fusion, a new device similar to a smartphone, which however allows DIY lovers. This is a useful tool for interactions with Raspberry Piequipped with a screen and integrated batteries.
