Meta has decided to improve all its social services with the implementation of an artificial intelligence-based virtual assistant which will allow Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp to keep up with the times. After some rumors, AI officially arrives on all platforms of the company to simplify users’ activities and allow them to obtain an increasingly intensive and satisfying user experience.
There are many new features that we will see in the coming weeks, thanks to the new powerful Llama 3 language model used by the company. In particular, during these hours, many users will be able to access and use it already the new Meta AI virtual assistant.

Meta AI, how the virtual chatbot arriving on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp works
The most important news that we will soon see on Meta’s social platforms is a chatbot, a virtual assistant based on artificial intelligence which will allow users to perform a large number of new actions directly on the three applications and, apparently, soon also on the Quest 3 viewer and on Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses, technological glasses with AI functions.
But what can Meta AI do? Its functioning it is not very different from chatbots and services already present online, such as ChatGPT and Gemini. There you can do quick searches, ask questions on disparate topics, ask to generate an image or an interesting text.
All the user has to do is provide a text prompt, in the search bar on Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp, and wait a few seconds for the system to process the suggestions and responses. The latter, regarding entertainment, sports and other events, are found by the main search engines.
The advantages are obvious: the user will not have to use different applications to perform different actions, resulting in significant time savings. But it doesn’t end here. To the new assistant it can also be accessed from the webfrom the official Meta AI website.
Meta AI, who can use the new chatbot
The new chatbot is being distributed, but Europen users will have to wait a little longer before being able to use it on Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp. In this first phase, Meta AI is available only and exclusively in English and in a small number of countries. These include South Africa, Canada, Australia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Pakistan, Nigeria, Singapore, Ghana, Jamaica and a few others. It is compatible with both i iOS devicesthan with those supported by the operating system Android.
In the future, the chabot could spread to other countries around the world, including Europe, but the timing is currently unknown. In the meantime, Meta is committed to further improving its AI chatbot and to make it highly competitive with other well-known solutions.
